First time trying here and probably my last đ
pretty expensive price for the small portion and there is nothing special about it. I think I can get more delicious fish all noodles at any hawker centres. What is special here that fish fries snack. Itâs quite addictive and crispy, which is good for sharing.
But other than that, nothing special that makes it worth what I am paying for. Maybe their laksa is better? But ehhh
Good fishball noodles but at this price point Fishball Story isn't offering enough to compete with Lixin or traditional favourites like Song Kee for the quality of the fishballs and fish dumplings. Soup lacks flavours. The prawn ball was the bright spot, I would order that a la carte instead of a fish dumplings soup next time.
Minced Pork noodle, $6.50 and Premium Laksa, $8.50.
Both noodles was too salty. Other than that, ingredients like fishballs, fishcake, signature fried fish and meatball was average. Price was quite atas for a bowl of noodles as portion serving was small
Self service ordering and self return tray after dining. Air conditioned shop
So so sad when all that is important are looks for a good photo.
Noodles were leached with a reeking ammonia taste. Limp, lifeless , blistering chili hot but tasteless.
Prawn balls had a horrid bicarb taste. Fishballs were rubbery and lacked taste though there was a hint of yellowtail.
Fishcake was marginally OK.
Pork lard chips whilst free were inedible. Drenched sopping in oil - not at all crisp. Totally not worth the calories and cholesterol
Felt so ripped off and disappointed.
Yummy fish balls with options of many soup noodles. Bit on the pricier side when compared with hawker options obviously but still nice.
Really worthy of their 2016 Michelin bib Gourmand award. If you want to avoid the queues, go in the evenings. Do give the Supreme a try. The extra dollars for the abalone is worth the money.
Not sure if I had high expectations or Singaporean fish ball noodles are just different but was a bit disappointed with this place. The noodles felt like something I would get out of an instant noodle packet and the fish ball variations were lacking in textures and flavours that I would expect. I am comparing this to HK fish ball noodles though so that may be a bit unfair.
Give it a go and make your own assessment.
I ordered a bowl of premium fish ball noodles with Mee Kia and you could choose from at least 8 types of noodles. The fish ball, fish cake, mushroom balls are all very bouncy or âQQâ. The noodle is served on a separate bowl with general servings of chilli and you can also garnish with fried crispy pork lard. I would say the noodle portion is not enough for me but the taste and presentation was excellent for hawker style fish ball noodles.
